  I went to Umami today for lunch as it was recommended by a friend. We waited for over 45 minutes for our food. I asked the fellow if it was due soon and he responded that 'it will be ready when its ready'. I was surprised by his curtness. When our food finally arrived 15 minutes later, my order arrived but my sisters food didn't. My vegetables were cold in the middle, the kale was yellow. My sisters dish finally arrived and they gave her a full order instead of the 1/2 order she had requested (saying this was because our order took so long. This was extremely disappointing as we expected fabulous food with good service, neither of which we received. As we were leaving, the fellow asked how our food was (no one asked after we received it). I mentioned that the vegetables were cold in the middle and he stated it was because they were rushing to get our order ready and that they were busy. I was prepared to shop at this store as it looked interesting (I'm from B.C. and enjoy shopping at different shops) but I didn't have the desire to shop after being treated like I was a problem customer. After this experience and lack of good service and lack of good food, I will never be back.

  Have had their Vietnamese subs in the past and they were good. Picked up one today and the quality has clearly gone down hill. The bread was old and hard, the sub was dry and there was barely any meat. Will not be going back!

  Great place to run into old friends! Fantastic inventory! I'll be going back again! They even have a weekly cooking show online I'm told!
